We are builders who cover the whole of Solihull including Knowle, Dorridge, Bentley Heath and Shirley. We are based conveniently in Redditch just off the M42. We are fortunate to have worked on many properties and have undertaken a variety of work. For the most part this will be a renovation, garage conversion or home extension or some other form of home improvement. Often this involves a kitchen or bathroom fit or supply and fit. We are often recommended by or re-booked by existing customers.
We like to use local suppliers where we can such as Travis Perkins, EH Smith, SEW and PTS.
We have a great relationship with the local building inspectors and are used to keeping in close contact with them at every key stage of a project, be that an extension, renovation, loft conversion or garage conversion.
As experienced builders in Solihull we can generally advise when building regulations are required and when planning permission needs to be sought.
A common question we are asked is What is the difference between planning permission and building regulations?
Essentially planning rules determine whether you are allowed to go ahead with your building project once the overall appearance/impact of your proposal has been considered alongside the existing environment. Building regulations set standards for the design and construction of buildings to ensure the safety and health of those in the building; following the agreed specifications will ensure structural stability.
Be assured that if required we are able to arrange for you to see some of our previous work by appointment.
So what’s the next step?
If you would like to book a free consultation, please contact Alison at 01527 542079. From there she will take details of your proposed works and arrange a mutually convenient timeslot and date. Jason will visit to meet you at your home or the site of your project and provide you with a quotation shortly after his visit. Should you decide to proceed with Creating Better Homes we will discuss and agree start dates and then arrive as planned to start work and remain with your project until completion.
